Gozo General Hospital changes its visitation policy from todayGozo General Hospital has advised that it is revising its visitation policy as from today, Wednesday, the 17th of June. The will now be as follows:

Accompanying guests will be limited to 1 person, and each guest will be screened and requested to wear a mask upon arrival.

Visiting hours will now be from 5pm to 6pm all days including Sundays and Public Holidays.

All Visitors:

• Must wear a visor and/or mask (fabric or surgical), be in good health and perform hand hygiene using the hand sanitiser dispensers located across the hospital.

• If a health screening determines symptoms of an illness are present (example: temperature, cough, shortness of breath, etc.) the visitor will not be allowed to stay.

• Visitor movement is highly discouraged and will be restricted.

• One visitor per patient is permitted for patients not being treated or evaluated for COVID-19.

• Visitors are NOT permitted for Covid-19 patients except for those nearing end of life.

• Pregnant women and children under 12 are not permitted to visit in the hospital.

Paediatrics

• One parent/guardian at all time will be permitted.

• Parents/guardian must restrict flow within the hospital to walk to/from unit only.

• Once daily visitation for as long as desired is encouraged, with exceptions for leaving the unit as reasonable.

Maternity

• One designated visitor per patient, per stay will be permitted.

• Visitor will be required to wear a mask (fabric or surgical) at all times.

• Visitor and patient must remain in patient room at all times.

Emergency Room and Urgent Care

• One visitor per patient is permitted.

Reasonable accommodations will be made to allow minors to accompany a parent if no other options are available. Minors must be in good health.

Other ward-specific rules may apply, and are subject to change.
