There have been 16 new Covid-19 cases recorded in the past 24-hours, health authorities have said, meaning there are now 215 active cases, with no new recoveries.

Authorities said that 5 cases are related to the Santa Venera feast cluster, 2 form part of the Paceville cluster, 5 are related to previously known cases, while the remaining cases are sporadic. Contact tracing is ongoing.

This means that there are 890 cases, 666 have recovered and there have been 9 deaths.

Authorities said that 1,502 swab tests were taken during the last 24-hours. The total number of swabs taken since the start being 133,105.

Public Health Authorities said that anyone who needs to take a test should call 111 to set an appointment, even if they do not have any symptoms. It is to be noted that due to the large volume of calls, it can take some time to get through.

All 3 swabbing centres are open every day, including the one in Gozo, however appointments must be made.
