The new Bishop Mons. Anton Teuma will lead his first Mass at the Cathedral of the Assumption, Victoria, on Wednesday, the 16th of September, at 6.30pm – This day also marks the 156th anniversary of the founding of the Diocese of Gozo.

The Diocese said that for the benefit of the public, the celebrations will be relayed on the Diocese of Gozo social media – Facebook and youtube channels.

The Episcopal Coat of Arms of the new Bishop Mons. Anton Teuma, has also been announced by the Gozo Diocese, which was created by Eikon, the Centre for Liturgical Arts (Gozo).

The motto of the episcopal coat of arms of Bishop Teuma – And He Walked Along With Them – is taken from the Gospel according to St. Luke, where the Risen Lord walks with the disciples on the way to Emmaus (Lk 24: 13-35), and shows the mission of the Church to accompany man through the course of his life, even in the heavy and dark moments.
