New hydro ambulance and rescue jet ski for the ERRC

A new hydro ambulance service has been has been added to the fleet of Gozo based, Emergency Response and Rescue Corps (ERRC), together with a new rescue jet ski.
The launch was carried out by Minister for Tourism Julia Farrugia Portelli and Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri at Mgarr in Gozo, where they also met with representatives of the voluntary organisation
The Tourism Minister said that through an investment of € 350,000 from the Malta Tourism Authority this service will be one of greater efficiency, adding that it is estimated that the hydro ambulance will take less than two minutes to cross between Mgarr to Comino.
For the past nine years, ERRC has provided professional lifeguard services at five beaches in Gozo and two in Comino.
During 2019 there were 6,823 people including tourists who needed the help of the ERRC in various cases.
