€95,000 awarded annually to University of Malta for courses in Gozo

€95,000 is being awarded annually by the Ministry for Gozo to the University of Malta to organise courses in Gozo.
Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri presided over the signing of an agreement between the University of Malta and the Ministry for Gozo and announced that this amount will be given annually to the University of Malta for 5 years to organise courses in Gozo and will be automatically renewed for successive 5-year periods.
The Rector of the University of Malta, Prof. Alfred J. Vella, said that the University will be providing services consisting of courses offered either by them or other educational courses and programmes coordinated by them, on the Gozo Campus of the University.
He explained that these services should also include the provision of knowledge related to these courses and/or educational programmes.
Minister Camilleri explained that the UM will also be able to use part of the funds allocated to it by the Ministry for maintenance, renovation and other related and necessary costs for maintenance and upkeep of the Gozo Campus.
The Minister for Gozo concluded by saying that such agreements are important for this government to continue investing in Gozitan students even in terms of tertiary education.
