During yesterday’s meeting, the MUT said that it was confirmed that there is a communication, which was sent by a senior official in the health authority, on the position of the opening of the schools.

In a statement on Friday morning, the union said that “this was confirmed in the presence of representatives of church schools and independent schools who attended the same meeting.”

This confirmation, the MUT said, “led to a request being made to the government for an analysis and presentation by the health authorities on the content of this communication, where the MUT and the representatives of the schools requested that Dr Vincent Marmarà to also attend as an expert, in order to give an objective analysis of the pandemic situation as it will be presented.”

“All this confirmed what the MUT claimed in the position it took this week where it said that the Ministry has advice on the opening of schools, such information that was denied by the Ministry this week,” said the union.

The MUT said that it will continue to update members.
