Prime Minister Robert Abela said on Tuesday that bars and clubs, that were due to open next Monday, will once again have their closure extended in a bid to stop the spread of Covid-19, aid packages will be announced to help bar owners.
He went on to say that new measures that will be mostly aimed around the Carnival weekend period will also be announced soon. The Prime Minister did not reveal any details, but did say that they would not involve a total lockdown, a curfew on open establishments or the closing of schools.
These measures, Abela said, would be in force during February and start to be relaxed during March.
