As part of the latest set of measures to curb the spread of Covid-19, non essential travel to Gozo has now been stopped, essential crossings are however permitted, such as for work, or for those who have a property in Gozo, further details are shown below.

The Ministry for Gozo has advised that accordingly, there will be screening carried out by Gozo Channel security officials of every passenger, both on foot as well as those travelling in their personal vehicle. This will take place at both Cirkewwa and Mgarr terminals.

It warned that any person who turns out to have been exposed to Covid-19 or shows any related symptoms will not be allowed to board the ferry.

Foot passengers and those in vehicles who are making the journey for any of the following: work purposes, medical reasons, essential visit to family members, transportation of goods and return to residency, will be allowed to board, the Ministry said.

The Ministry for Gozo said that it will, in the coming hours be issuing specific permits to those workers who commute daily, this is in order to facilitate the screening process and avoid queues at the terminal;

Ships will continue to operate at half capacity and will continue to be fumigated periodically, it said.
