The Government has said that over the past week thousands of inspections have been carried out by the various enforcement bodies.
According to the latest figures, 920 fines were issued to people in Gozo and Malta by the relevant authorities regarding the enforcement of Covid-19 regulations.
685 fines were related to not wearing a mask. 71 people were fined for being in larger groups than allowed by law. 148 people were fined for violating the regulations relating to private gatherings in residences.
10 fines were imposed in connection with breaches of rules for entities, and 6 people were fined for not complying with the quarantine obligation.
The Government stressed that with more announcements helping people get back to normal, “there is a growing need to stick to the rules that are still in place.”
