There has been 1 new Covid-19 case recorded in the past 24-hours, from 1,432 swab tests, making a positivity rate of 0.07. There were 3 recoveries and no new deaths registered.

Active cases are now at 70 in Malta and Gozo. The total number of cases since the start of the pandemic in Malta is 30,572 and there have been 30,083 recoveries and 419 deaths.

943,984 swab tests have been taken since the start of the pandemic in Malta.

558,320 doses of the vaccine have been administered up until yesterday. 238,807 are now fully vaccinated, while 80,706 are partly vaccinated.

The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control has advised that it will be reporting figures on a weekly basis – every Thursday. As of the 3rd of June, it shows that the number of cases recorded for Malta is at 30,535 and the number of deaths showing is 419. The 14-day cumulative number of Covid-19 cases per 100,000 is now 9.91, the lowest in the EU.

The ECDC said that the above data are collected between Monday and Wednesday for the proceeding week.

The Ministry of Health called on the public to continue to follow the preventive measures so that we can protect the most vulnerable in our society – This includes wearing of masks, social distancing and hand hygiene.
