3 new Covid-19 cases, with 2 recoveries, active cases now at 27There were 3 new Covid-19 cases found in the past 24-hours from the 2,271 swab tests taken, making the positivity rate 0.13. There were 2 recoveries and no new deaths registered.

Active cases are now at 27 in Malta and Gozo. The total number of cases since the start of the pandemic in Malta is 30,598 and there have been 30,151 recoveries and 420 deaths.

971,975 swab tests have been taken since the start of the pandemic in Malta.

640,729 doses of the vaccine have been administered up until yesterday. 299,151 people are now fully vaccinated.

The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control has advised that it will be reporting figures on a weekly basis – every Thursday. As of the 24th of June, it shows that the number of cases recorded for Malta is at 30,590 and the number of deaths showing is 420. The 14-day cumulative number of Covid-19 cases per 100,000 is now 3.69, the lowest in the EU.

The ECDC said that the above data are collected between Monday and Wednesday for the proceeding week.

The Ministry of Health called on the public to continue to follow the preventive measures – This includes wearing of masks, social distancing and hand hygiene.
