There were 6 new Covid-19 cases found in the past 24-hours, from the 2,717 swab tests taken, making a positivity rate of 0.2%. There were 0 recoveries and no new deaths registered.

Active cases are now at 52 in Malta and Gozo. The total number of cases since the start of the pandemic in Malta is 30,633 and there have been 30,161 recoveries and 420 deaths.

The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control has advised that it will be reporting figures on a weekly basis – every Thursday. As of the 1st f July, it shows that the number of cases recorded for Malta is at 30,602 and the number of deaths showing is 420. The 14-day cumulative number of Covid-19 cases per 100,000 is now 5.83. Romania is the lowest in the EU with 4.61, followed by Poland with 5.68.

The ECDC said that the above data are collected between Monday and Wednesday for the proceeding week.

The Ministry of Health called on the public to continue to follow the preventive measures – This includes wearing of masks, social distancing and hand hygiene.
