Almost €134,000 has been distributed in financial aid to voluntary and sports organisations in order to carry out projects and initiatives for the benefit of the Gozitan Community.

Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri distributed grant agreements to the 18 voluntary organisations who had applied this year, all of which were successful. €89,877 was shared between them.

There were 9 sports organisations which met the criteria set out for funding for their projects and they were allocated €43,872 between them.

“The main objective of these schemes is to improve the social, cultural, ecological and sporting fabric of Gozo,” the Minister said.

He added that, this scheme also encourages and promotes a culture of volunteering and participation in volunteering activities in the Gozitan community.

Minister Camilleri concluded by thanking the associations for the useful work that they are carrying out within the Community.
