Ghawdix is a young eNGO that is focusing on the protection of Gozo’s environment.
They are currently in the process of meeting with various politicians, both from the Government and the Opposition, as part of their plan to “extend and strengthen” the dialogue on what they describe as a very crucial topic for the future of Gozo, namely the environment, and in particular, the construction industry.
Ghawdix explained that “in light of the public’s own response, the complaints that we process, and the obscene development cases that have taken place and are still emerging, we feel it is our duty to discuss these issues directly with politicians, and we insist on the point that certain decisions – even if the votes are worth it – only they can take them.”
Ghawdix said that it is the duty of those who represent us to see that the common good is protected not by giving everyone what they want and being content. Clientelism satisfies little by little and spoils many, by many. Progress is made through policies that regulate and preserve what we have.
The aim of eNGO Ghawdix is to “strive to cultivate and promote environmental and social responsibility, and defend the natural landscape of the Island of Gozo, for a higher quality of life among present and future generations.”

It is good to have an NGO who has been created to protect Gozo, but can anyone write a statues and present themselves as the saviours of Gozo? If they want to protect Gozo they should ask the Government to order that nobody can use the public transport and the ferries, without a Full Vaccine certificate. Of course ‘anti vaccine’ people will protest but I think that we should protest not them, after all even common sense deems it.
