38 new Covid-19 cases and 43 recoveries, 28 are in hospital, with 2 in ITU

38 new Covid-19 cases have been found overnight with 43 recoveries. This takes the number of active cases in Malta and Gozo down to 740.
There have been 446 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
A total of 28 Covid positive patients are currently being treated at Mater Dei Hospital, down from 32 yesterday, 2 of whom are in the ITU, down from 3 yesterday.
The number of vaccines administered is now 803,975 up until yesterday, of which 1,796 are booster doses.
The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control has advised that it will be reporting figures on a weekly basis – every Thursday. As of the 9th of September, it shows the number of cases recorded for Malta is at 36,512 and the number of deaths showing is 445. The 14-day cumulative number of Covid-19 cases per 100,000 remains at 135.84.
The ECDC said that the above data are collected between Monday and Wednesday for the proceeding week.
