Police have advised that a 17-year old girl from Iklin was grievously injured last night after the car she was a passenger in crashed into a container in Rabat Road, Marsalforn, Gozo.

The accident happened at around 00.45am, when a 19-year old man from Xewkija lost control of his Toyota Corsa car and crashed into a container.There was also another passenger in the vehicle, a 16-year old girl from San Gwann.

They were all taken to the Gozo General Hospital for further treatment, where the driver and other passenger were certified as suffering from slight injuries.

Police investigations are ongoing.
