There has been a huge spike in new Covid-19 cases, as 122 are found overnight, more than double that of yesterday’s figure. 41 recoveries were also recorded.

The authorities said that 12 Covid patients are currently being treated at Mater Dei Hospital, including 2 in ITU.

There have been 463 deaths since the start of the pandemic. The number of active cases in Malta and Gozo has jumped up to 847.

Health Authorities said that the number of vaccines administered up until yesterday is 927,127 of which 93,247 are booster doses.
