A 62-year old man has passed away during the last 24-hours while Covid positive, Authorities have said.

The rise in cases goes on day after day, with 1,403 new Covid-19 cases found overnight and 98 recoveries, which now takes the number of active cases in Malta and Gozo up to 11,441.

The number of patients requiring treatment in hospital has also risen with 100 Covid patients in Mater Dei Hospital (which is the only one being reported) including 8 who are in ITU.

Authorities said there have been 477 deaths since the start of the pandemic.

The number of booster doses administered up until yesterday is 220,977.
