Two women, aged 56 and 67, have passed away during the last 24-hours while Covid positive, Authorities have said.

1,144 new Covid-19 cases have been found overnight and 709 recoveries, which now takes the number of active cases in Malta and Gozo up to over 15,000 at 15,065.

There are 114 patients requiring treatment in Mater Dei Hospital (which is the only one being reported) including 5 who are in ITU.

Authorities said there have been 484 deaths since the start of the pandemic.

The number of booster doses administered up until yesterday is 254,889.
