Five men in Gozo, aged between 21 and 59, have been arrested in connection with drug trafficking and possession.

Police said that yesterday, after days of observation by the Police Drug Squad, officers carried out searches in a establishment in Ghajnsielem where they found a substance suspected to be cocaine in the possession of three men.

Then later, while they were conducting inspections in Xaghra, Police said they followed and stopped a “suspicious car” and after a search, a substance suspected to be cannabis ready for trafficking was found.

A Magisterial Inquiry was appointed, and Police investigations are still ongoing.
