A 39-year old man was grievously injured in a traffic accident during the early hours of Sunday morning in Gozo.

Police said that the accident happened at around 1.00am in Mgarr Road, Ghajnsielem.

The man, a resident of St Paul’s Bay had crashed his car – a Smart Fortwo – which was found by Police on the side of the road.

A medical team and members of the Civil Protection Department assisted at the scene. The man was taken to the Gozo General Hospital, where he was later certified to be suffering from grievous injuries.
