A 30-year old man was arrested in Xewkija, on Sunday morning after he was caught cultivating around 55 cannabis plants.

Police said that following anonymous information, the Drugs Squad set up surveillance of a field in the limits of Xewkija and today, they entered the field and arrested the man.After a search, plants, seeds and items related to the processing of the drug for trafficking were found. Police added that another search was made in his Xewkija home, where more items related to the processing of the drug for trafficking were found.

Police investigations are still ongoing whilst a Magisterial Inquiry has been appointed into the case.
