The Resources Ministry have announced that altogether around 10,000 vouchers for energy saving light bulbs have now been distributed around Gozo. The number of bulbs per household was assessed according to the size of the family.
The total distributed around Malta and Gozo during the last few days amounted to 100,000 vouchers. The public has until the end of October to use these vouchers in the shop of their choice.
The Ministry said that it is important that when a person presents the voucher at the shop, they must also show their identity card.

We are encouraging everyone to use a bulb that has mercury. I don’t think the islands have an effective plan to properly dispose of them. Has the public been informed about the risks of mercury and how to properly clean up if an energy bulb breaks and dispose of it?
