Antoine Vassallo has come to the end of his tenure following eleven years as Diocesan President of Catholic Action in Gozo.
Bishop Anton Teuma has accepted the nomination of Carmel Attard as successor. Attard, who retired as Assistant Director of Education, has long been an active member.
This was announced during meetings for representatives of the various groups around the parishes in which the year’s motto about the Word which illuminates was explained.
The Diocesan Directorate for 2022-2025 also includes Carmen Formosa (Secretary), John Vella (Administrator), Bernardette Vella (Adult Section President), Louis Attard (Male groups Coordinator), Antoine Vassallo (PRO and Vice President), Can Noel Saliba (Diocesan Ecclesiastical Assistant) and Can George Frendo (Adult Council Assistant).
It was also announced that the Assembly will be held at the Headquarters on Saturday, the 29th of October at 4.30pm.
Besides a programmatic speech by the new President and mass led by Bishop Teuma, the agenda also includes a reflection on Saint Gianna Beretta Molla on her birth centenary. Catholic Action acts on the cult of this first family mother raised to the altars, also using her relic.
