Novel Flu Virus update – Health Division

The Health Division informs the public that following a meeting of the Committee of Experts held yesterday evening, the Director General of the WHO has declared that the Pandemic Alert phase has been raised from level 3 to level 4.

Unemployment shoots up by 915 in March

At 7,083 persons, registered unemployment in March 2009 increased by 915 persons when compared to the same month last year.

In Malta, the registered unemployed amounted to 6,301 persons, whereas in Gozo they amounted to 782.
