Bank of Valletta have announced that they are supporting this year’s edition of the volleyball marathon, which is being organised by Dar tal-Providenza and that will see 35 athletes playing volleyball continuously for 52 hours.

The marathon will run between Friday the 24th and Sunday the 26th of July 2009.

Dr Michael Borg Costanzi, Chief Officer Legal & Compliance from Bank of Valletta met Fr Martin Micallef, Director at Dar tal-Providenza at the volleyball court specifically set up for the marathon.

"Bank of Valletta is very pleased to be supporting this year’s marathon. Dar tal-Providenza is an organisation that plays an important role within Maltese society and we are pleased to make a contribution that will surely help this organisation in giving essential services to the community," said Dr Borg Costanzi.

Id-Dar tal-Providenza, a residential home catering for persons with disability, relies on the generosity of its benefactors and on donations it receives from the general public to provide the high level of care for its residents in order to help them towards their eventual integration into society.

Donations can be made by calling 50049553 for a €7 donation, 50049555 for a €12 donation and 50049550 for a €23 donation. €7 donations can me made by sending a blank SMS to 50618938. Alternatively, the public can give a donation by depositing funds into Bank of Valletta account number 40018198977 at any BOV Branch.
