A 68-year old woman from was seriously injured after being hit by a van in Triq Fortunato Mizzi in Victoria, Gozo.

Police said that the accident happened at around noon on Saturday, when the woman, who is from Qala, was hit by a Daihatsu Hijet driven by a 51-year old man from Santa Venera.

The injured woman was taken to the Gozo General Hospital where she was later certified to have suffered grievous injuries.

Police investigations are ongoing.
