Europe Direct Gozo, in collaboration with the Gozo Regional Council recently organised an information session on the European Union and the Committee of the Regions, which was held at the Sir Michelangelo Refalo Sixth Form.

The President of the Council, Dr. Samuel Azzopardi, who has been a full member of the Committee of the Regions since 2010, delivered the main speech.

Dr Azzopardi talked about the processes, committees, delegations, and meetings involved. Additionally, he explained how having a voice within the European Union benefits the region of Gozo, and encouraged students to make their voices heard at local, national, and international levels.

Jesmond Buttigieg and Jan Luca Gatt from Europe Direct Gozo made the introductory and concluding comments respectively.
