A reminder that on Tuesday there is a blood donation session in Gozo, with an urgent call for blood now in place. All blood types are in short supply.

The National Blood Donation Service has advised that the number of serious accidents that have occurred recently have had a great effect on the blood bank. Therefore more effort than usual is needed for people to come forward and donate.

This will enable the blood reserve to achieve the necessary levels to guarantee a ready supply for patients as soon as needed.

The next session will be on Tuesday, the 24th of January from 1pm to 5pm at the Xewkija Clinic. This will be followed by another on Sunday, the 29th of January, from 8am until 1pm.

“Your cooperation and generosity are greatly appreciated as always,” the Service said.

The centre is located at the Xewkija Clinic, in Triq tall- Hamrija, between the Primary School and the Bocci Club.

Important notes from the National Blood Transfusion Service

The Service reminds everyone that it is very important to always take your Identity Card, or Driving License or Maltese Passport and to drink plenty of water beforehand.

As usual, please wear a mask when attending the clinic.
