Kaccaturi San Ubertu has reacted to the news regarding BirdLife Malta’s opposition to a school exhibition on “legal hunting,” where BirdLife said they are “disgusted and alarmed.”

“Clearly Birdlife Malta have no intention of shedding their extremism,” the organisation said, “which unfortunately spreads unperturbed through our educational system with the blessings of the authorities concerned.”

It added that, “what really is alarming is that this biased anti-hunting indoctrination has been in existence since 1994.”

The KSU said in a statement, “what indeed is disgusting is the so-called educator’s opposition to fact being brought to our children’s knowledge whilst twisting fact to suit an agenda.”

The exhibition by the hunters’ organisation KSU is being funded by the Gozo Ministry.

Kaccaturi San Ubertu stated that it “expected no better from an organisation that opposes hunting and yet is entrusted with the environmental education of our children in schools through their Dinja Wahda school programme.”

The organisation said that the ” idea to apply for funding for this exhibition stems from several complaints by hunters over the years whose children are taught in schools that legal and sustainable hunting is an abomination.”

Kaccaturi San Ubertu maintained that “children should not be denied the right to an unbiased education, more so where hunting is concerned and where any related hunting information in our educational system is left to those that openly oppose it.”

It added that, “being a popular legal activity worldwide, with over 7,000,000 hunters in the EU alone, our children have every right to be given a factual basis upon which to form an opinion.”

The organisation went on to say that the exhibition is “not intended to entice children into hunting, but purely to inform about legal hunting as opposed to illegal activity, the environmental work of hunters and the culinary benefits derived from this popular worldwide activity.”

What perversion-teaching children to kill wildlife. After the killings, they leave the plastic cartridges to litter the ground because hunters are too bone idle to pick them up. And what of the lead that poisons the ground and the produce we eat? This is something that is practiced by ignorant Neanderthals and children’s minds should not be polluted with this savagery. I also think the figure of 7 million hunters in Europe is grossly exaggerated.
