€500,000 project underway on Triq Guzeppi Spiteri, Victoria

Gozo Minister Clint Camilleri has visited the ongoing works, in Triq Guzeppi Spiteri, Victoria, Gozo, where he stated that the same is also being done in the street behind Triq ta’ Wara s-Sur, Triq l-Imghallem.

“With the the new junction being made we will remove the bottleneck that we have at present. These are two projects in the centre of Victoria that are intended to reduce traffic from the centre so that one can access different parts of island.” Minister Camilleri explained.

The works on Triq Guzeppi Spiteri include the building of a service culvert to pass the electricity cable and other services, while water and sewage services have also been introduced. All to be completed at a cost of almost €500,000.

Minister Camilleri added that the road is being opened not only to give access to residents but also as part of the process to join other roads in Victoria in order to reduce traffic in the centre of the city.

The Gozo Minister concluded by saying that the new government policy is also being implemented in Triq Guzeppi Spiteri, where services in particular light wires that are hanging on the facades, will pass through the service culverts that are presently being constructed.

      The Project in Triq Guzeppi Spiteri is simply going to cause masses of extra cars through Victoria as they have built the best part of 100 apartments and the only access is down Triq Ghajn Qatet from St. Francis Square.
