Three people have been hospitalised, two with grievous injuries, after being involved in a traffic accident in Triq Borg Gharib, Ghajnsielem, Gozo, on Friday.

Police said that the accident happened at about 10.45am, and was between a Kia Pride, being driven by a 61-year old man from Nadur, and a Toyota Tercel, being driven by a 43-year old woman from Xaghra. A 9-year-old girl was a passenger in the Toyota.

A medical team assisted them on site before being taken to the Gozo General Hospital. Medical professionals later certified that both adults were grievously injured, while the child was not injured.

Police investigations are ongoing.
