Three Gozitans were part of two separate delegations in early February that represented the Maltese Episcopal Conference in two important meetings of the universal Church: the Continental Assembly of the Synod, organised by the Council of European Episcopal Conferences together with the Secretariat of the Synod.

One Assembly took place in Prague, with the theme “Enlarge the Space of Your Tent”; as well as the International Convention for the representatives of the Episcopal Commissions for the Laity, organised by the Dicastery for the Laity, Family and Life, which was held in the Vatican, with theme “Pastors and lay faithful called to walk together.”

The Gozitan members on the delegations were Rev. Daniel Sultana, Diocesan Pastoral Secretary, Rev. Krystof Buttigieg, Delegate of the Bishop for Catechesis and the Family, and Francesco Pio Attard, from the Office of Communication of the Diocese.

The Diocese of Gozo said that “There were strong moments of ecclesiality, where in the spirit of synodality so desired by Pope Francis, the Church in Gozo also contributed to the reflection that the Church is currently doing to be truly more evangelising and missionary.”
