The Federation for Hunting and Conservation (FKNK) has requested the Court to allow it to be part of the hearing on the provisional warrant of prohibitory injunction that had been granted to BirdLife Malta.

BirdLife Malta, commenting on the Government’s response to the provisional warrant of prohibitory injunction that has been granted, said that apart from requesting the Court to move the hearing forward, so that the case is heard and decided well before the date given of the 18th of April, it is also requesting the Court to refuse BirdLife Malta’s request to stop the season from opening.

The organisation explained that as things stand, the Government is unable to issue the legal notice to open this year’s Turtle-dove spring hunting season, until the hearing. Last year this season opened on the 17th of April.
