A 41-year old man has sustained grievous injuries after he accidentally shot himself in the foot while at a shooting range in Nadur.

The incident happened at around 1.30pm on Saturday at the shooting range in Trejqa Ta’ Xurdin.

The man, who is from Gharb, was given assistance at the scene by a person at the range and was taken to the Gozo General Hospital.

Police were informed by the Health Authorities that a man had been admitted with injuries caused by a firearm.

Police investigations are ongoing.
