The Sannat Local Council will be hosting the third edition of the annual wine festival – Est! Est!! Est!!! – on Sunday, the 30th of April, from 8pm onwards, in Pjazzetta Cocco Palmieri.

The locality of Sannat is twinned with Montefiascone in Italy and every year the wine festival features several distinctive wines from that region.

This year visitors will have the opportunity to taste wines from three wineries and the selection includes ruby red wines (composed of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese and Montepulciano grapes), elegant white wines (originating from grapes such as Syrah and Trebbiano) and rosé wine.The organisers said there will be delicious foods available to complement the wine tasting, such as platters, pasta dishes, local ftira and pork roast.

The wine festival also hosts its house wine competition which is open to local vintners and the closing date for the house wine competition is Friday, the 28th of April, at noon.

Of course, no wine festival is complete without entertainment and this year it will be – live music by Xarulu (featuring hits from Pink Floyd, Queen, Dire Straits and more), Mae Band and DJ Alessia De Martino promise a good vibe throughout the evening, and synchronised fireworks will light up the skies.
