“This event is another milestone for our village and every Xewkija citizen must be proud of this event!” This was the most common phrase the speakers mentioned during the official opening of the new Xewkija Tigers FC Club House last Saturday, the 22nd of August.

In front of those present, President Mr Jeffrey Farrugia, Secretary Mr Joseph Attard, Project Coordinator Mr Marcell Bonnici and Legal Advisor Anton Refalo, all stated the difficulties and sacrifices the club encountered during the acquisition of such premises and the satisfaction once the everything was settled.

Other distinct personalities amongst whom were GFA President Mr.Alvin Grech, Gozo Minister, Giovanna Debono and Dr Joe Caruana Curran, representative from the KMS (Kunsill Malti ghall-iSports), all gave their encouragement to such an investment and encouraged all local organisations to take Xewkija Tigers FC as an example of diligence. Giovanna Debono also added that the central Government would be willing to help the club to fulfill its infrastructure ambitions.

The Gozo Minister officially opened the building and local Archpriest Mons. Carmelo Mercieca blessed the premises.

Towards the end of the ceremony, before refreshments were served, all guests were invited to the Trophy Hall to sign the ceremonial guestbook.
