The Regional Astronomy Park in Gharb was inaugurated on Wednesday evening by Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri and the Mayor of Gharb, David Apap Agius
This innovative project, which is situated in Tumas Cassar Street, was the initiative of the Gharb Local Council and completed through funds from the Gozo Action Group under 3 GAGF LEADER Programme – Gozo Attractions and Innovative Events for all Seasons.
The aim of the project is to improve the attractiveness of living in Gozo for young persons and young families and was carried out in collaboration with the Ghaqda tal-Muzikali tal-Vizitazzjoni and Gozo Village Holidays.
This project will be accessible remotely to astronomy enthusiasts, experts and universities, even from overseas, via an app that will be provided by the Local Council.
The Gozo Minister congratulated the Local Council of Gharb for this project, and also encouraged other Local Councils to invest in different projects in their locality that will be of interest to the whole family and attract more visitors
