A course on family relationships – Psychodynamics of family life – was held earlier this month, organised by the Diocese of Gozo and led by Bishop Anton Teuma.

A group of 30 people attended the course, and the Diocese said that the majority of them were married couples or parents.

This was the 15th year that the course was held providing an opportunity of continuous formation in favour of families that are humanly and spiritually stronger.

The Diocese of Gozo explained that, designed over ten sections, of three hours a day, the course had the main objective of helping the participants to stop and reflect for a long time about their personal family.

While providing them with a systematic framework to confront themselves, the course gradually showed the participants how they can mature in family relationships also through the use of practical skills.

In the first week the course focused on the relationship between the couple, with themes such as the differences between men and women, communication, conflicts, and so on, while in the second week the themes were linked to the relationship between parents and children.

Among the participants there were also people who, in different fields, work with couples, families, small children and teenagers.

The Diocese said that “for these, the teaching given can serve as an instrument of service in working in favour of other families.”
