Nature Trust – FEE Malta – Gozo Section volunteers ensured that a group of SkolaSajf students from Xaghra had an incredible educational experience during their visit to Hondoq Bay, the stunning Blue Flag beach.

The session kicked off with a fascinating tour, showcasing the fantastic aspects that make Hondoq Bay a proud recipient of the prestigious Blue Flag status.

The NTM Gozo Section said that the students explored accessibility to the beach, clean water, presence of lifeguards, informative signs, well-maintained bins, and convenient toilet facilities.

Marine Litter Awareness: Understanding the impact of marine litter on the precious local marine organisms was a key part of the session.

The students engaged in meaningful discussions on the duration it takes for litter to break down in the sea and explored proactive measures to reduce the plastic footprint.A scavenger hunt brought the session to a close, where the students enthusiastically searched for various items, deepening their connection to the environment, and fostering a sense of exploration and discovery.

The NTM Gozo Section invited everyone to join them in “preserving our coastal treasures and spreading awareness about the importance of environmental conservation. Together, we are paving the way for a sustainable future!”
