Air Malta flight KM101 from London Heathrow to Malta, scheduled to depart at 10.50hrs (local time), had to return to London Heathrow International Airport shortly after take-off.

Air Malta said that “this unexpected event was caused by a minor technical issue.”

The airline said that as a result of this necessary precaution, KM101 from London Heathrow to Malta has experienced a delay.

KM101 has departed London Heathrow at 16.10hrs (local time) and will now arrive at Malta International Airport at 19.20hrs (local time).

Air Malta apologised for the inconvenience caused and emphasised that “the safety of our passengers and crew remains our highest priority.”
