Heritage Malta in collaboration with the Ministry for Gozo is organising an exhibition of miniature maps of Gozo and Malta at the Ministry for Gozo in Victoria. The exhibition will consist of more than 90 miniature maps which will give the public an opportunity to closely view maps of Gozo and Malta, as well as plans of Valletta and the Three Cities, measuring no more than 10 by 15 cm, under one roof.

The majority of these miniature maps have been carefully selected from The Albert Ganado Map Collection which was presented to Heritage Malta in July 2008. A number of other maps come from the National Maritime Museum and from private collections. Included also in this exhibition are 19 books, ranging between the 17th and early 20th century, that show miniature maps and plans of Malta and Valletta in their original function as illustrations to text.

The exhibition will be open from the 12th of September till the 11th of October 2009, at the Ministry for Gozo, Victoria. On weekdays, the opening hours will be from 8.30am to 12.30pm and on Saturdays from 9.00am to 12.00pm. From the 1st of October, the opening hours will be from 8.30am to 4.30pm. An exhibition catalogue compiled by Dr Albert Ganado and published by Midsea Books will be available for sale.

Entrance to the exhibition will be free of charge.
