Prime Minister Robert Abela, speaking at a political event at the Grand Hotel, Ghajnsielem, maintained that the importance of the Government’s work is “based on the wishes of the Gozo people.”

He claimed that “the investment in Gozo has yielded the best results.” Adding that “we brought the Gozitan economy to a strong one that creates work. In 2023 it was the strongest.”

He said that “all this complements the largest amount of Government capital expenditure in the history of the island of Gozo – €22 million.”

“I want every young man and woman on this island to fulfil their dreams,” stated the Prime Minister. “Work in Gozo for Gozitans. Quality careers. Opportunities for success. We want Gozo alive. But we have to take care of Gozo as well.”

Abela said that “Gozo will be the example of the new economic development of our country. Economic growth in quality areas, and with the least possible environmental impact.”

He emphasised how this year must be the best one for Gozo and the Gozo strategy that was designed and agreed upon will be brought to life.

Prime Minister Abela also praised Qala Mayor Paul Buttigieg for his work and fight for the area of Hondoq and urged him to continue with his work for the locality.
