Thirty organisations in Malta and Gozo have benefited from a scheme to carry out projects within the community.
The Parliamentary Secretariat for Youth, Research, and Innovation scheme means that these voluntary or non-governmental organisations “will be able to carry out projects in the community with the aim of contributing to the common good,” it said.
The selected projects will be helping the local communities by providing a better quality of life to the citizens and more technological and innovative facilities that will improve the operation of the associations.
This was explained by the Parliamentary Secretary for Youth, Research and Innovation Keith Azzopardi Tanti during his address to those present at the announcement.
The Chairperson of the Selection Board of this scheme, Antonella Gatt, explained the rigorous process by which the final projects were selected.
“We have chosen the most projects with which a common good can be created, from young children in sports nurseries to older and elderly people. In the end, all Maltese and Gozitans will benefit from these projects,” she said.
When the scheme was launched in April it was announced that a total of €150,000 in funds has been allocated for the year 2023, administered by the Parliamentary Secretariat for Youth, Research, and Innovation. Organisations were able to receive a maximum of €8,000 for each project.
