Updated: Two Gozitans are the winners of the Junior Song for Europe 2009, which was held live last night on TVM. The winners were announced after the results came in from the televoting and jury.

Mikaela Bajada from Munxar and Francesca Sciberras of Fontana will represent Malta in Kiev this coming December with their song ‘Double Trouble.’ They are the first Gozitans to have won this prestigious award.

A celebration carcade and festivity will be held today from 5.15pm onwards. The festivities will begin with the arrival of the singers at the Mgarr terminal and a carcade to Munxar will follow.
