The Nationalist Party “offers a policy in favour of Gozo and the people of Gozo,” it said in a statement.
“The Nationalist Party is the Party of Gozo,” this was said by PN Leader Bernard Grech, who spent Sunday morning meeting residents in Nadur, Ghajnsielem and Victoria, “listening to, and understanding more, the needs of the Gozitan people.”
He said that many had talked about months of waiting for immediate change when it comes to the needs of the Gozitan island, “but the calls of the Gozitans were ignored.”
The Leader of the Nationalist Party stressed that a “real and positive change is needed that can only be achieved if urgent, robust and tangible decisions are taken and implemented when it comes to planning policy and the current economic model.”
He said that the Nationalist Party, “will continue to see that there is an adequate plan for the island of Gozo, where everything that is Gozitan is kept.”
The Nationalist Party from the Opposition “fought so that the Gozitan hospital would once again truly belong to the Gozitan people,” he said.
Regarding healthcare, Grech said he “heard the suffering of individuals where in order to receive a service they are having to go to Malta.”
On tourism, the PN Leader said he listened to a number of businessmen and people in the sector who stressed that “it is necessary that quality tourists go to Gozo and that it is not just about quantity.”
The leader of the Nationalist Party concluded by saying that “the people of Gozo deserve the best.”

The people of Gozo deserve what they voted for.
I would love to see PN in government and believe Alex Borg would be a great minister for Gozo. Please do not let up: Gozo deserves to be cherished, preserved and nourished! Nobody wants to see it turn into a mini-Malta yet the signs are there. I remember when, years ago, Menorcan authorities stopped all building on the island of Menorca to prevent its becoming another overrun holiday spot. Stop Gozo becoming a middle-eastern type high rise town!
