Gozo Traditional Weaving – a seminar and workshop is taking place in the beautifully restored Xewkija Windmill in Gozo.

Gozitan weaver Alda Bugeja will demonstrate and talk about the traditional weaving process, one of the oldest crafts of the island.

The programme of activities, which is open to the public, begins with a talk about women and their role in the eighteenth century in Gozo.

Alda Bugeja will be showing those present the complete weaving process. Children will also have a special workshop just for them.

Coffee and traditional pastries will be served.

The seminar and workshop will be held on Sunday, the 15th of October, between 10am and 2pm.

Tours of the site will be offered by specialist guides.

The Xewkija windmill had been restored through funds from the European Union and was opened to the public in January 2021.
