Work is continuing 24 hours a day, so that the Nadur Primary School can welcome teachers and students back for the start of the new school year next week, Minister for Gozo Clint Camilleri said.

He added that “this will have happened without any student being moved to another school, with the work being distributed in phases and in different areas.”

Nadur Primary School has a population of around 200 children, and 30 educators.

The school, which forms part of the Gozo College, is housed in a two-storey building and was built at the beginning of the 20th Century on an area of 5,000 square metres and is located in an Urban Conservation Area.

In addition to the extensive work carried out on both the interior and exterior of the school, the project includes the redesign of open and recreational spaces, as well as the creation of new spaces for teaching extracurricular subjects, including a dance studio, music room, literacy room, theatre studio, and art classes.

The project also addresses the accessibility of the building, as well as becoming energy efficient.
