The latest data from the National Statistics Office show that in September, the annual rate of inflation as measured by the Retail Price Index (RPI) was 4.1%, up from 4.0% in August.
The largest upward impact on annual inflation was measured in the Food Index (+1.89 percentage points). The NSO noted that this was mainly due to higher take-away prices.
The largest downward impact was recorded in the Transport and communication Index (-0.45 percentage points). This was mainly reflecting lower prices of land transport services, the NSO said.
The 12-month moving average rate for September stood at 6.0%.
