The Nationalist Party has reiterated its vow to build a new General Hospital in Gozo.

Opposition Leader Bernard Grech said that “neither the Government, together with the Vitals and Steward were able to build it.”

The PN Leader was speaking at a press conference outside the Gozo Hospital, with Deputies Adrian Delia, Alex Borg and Chris Said.

He said that in recent years “nothing was done despite the millions of euros that the Government gave from the people’s money.”

The Leader of the Nationalist Party, referring to the judgement this week, said that it is “no wonder that the Court found that there was an agreement with a conspiracy between the Government and the companies Vitals Global Healthcare and Steward Healthcare behind everyone’s backs and for them to gain. But from this agreement the people ended up being robbed.”

Adrian Delia said that the news conference was called for outside the Gozo General Hospital “so that everyone could see the scene of a crime against all the people.”

He then invited Prime Minister Robert Abela to, when he visits Gozo, “cut the ribbon of this failure, for which his own Government is an accomplice.”

Alex Borg said that all Gozitans and Maltese have a right to have the health service they deserve.

He added that “all the people should unite in the insistence that the money that was stolen, goes back to the people.”

Chris Said stressed that the Nationalist Party was against this deal from the start.

The speakers said that “all Maltese and Gozitans should join the Nationalist Party in the National Protest next Sunday, at 4pm in front of the Castille.”
